I didn't mention yesterday that I started the 17-Day Diet. Did anyone see that on Dr. Phil? As rarely as I get to see the Philbert (as I call him), I did get to see this diet discussed. OK, I'm trying it mostly because it is 17 days and I agree with its premise: body confusion. As if I needed more confusion in my life...but I know that it works for exercise, why not for diet. Anyway, 17 days is about the length of my attention span on a diet, so why not.
I made more yogurt last night using Fage (which I never heard of before yesterday). I make the yogurt at night and it's done in the morning. The yogurt maker makes this process so much more easy than what some have told me, i.e., oh, just use a heating pad or an electric blanket. Huh? As if I'm going to wrap up jars of milk in a blanket. I don't think so. Anyway, my yogurt came out like custard this time. The first time, using the yogurt maker's recipe and no-name yogurt, it came out good but the consistency of a soupy smoothie. This time, I used the Fage organic yogurt and added 1/3 cup of powdered milk. Now it's how I like it. Besides using it for a yogurt treat, I'm going to make veggie dip with it.
Last night I signed up for the Run Amuck Festival. It's official, I'm going to do this mud run with Sean. It's at Washington Crossing State Park on the NJ side. Last year, Sean ran in it, Brianna was videographer, and I volunteered helping to take times of the finishers. It was A LOT of fun.
I do not want to come to grips with the fact that today is the last day of vacation. I just set my alarm for 5:30 am for the week. This has been the best holiday vacation that I've had in many years. It was the first time in at least 5 years that I haven't had to do some kind of course work during the holiday. This has been REALLY nice. Besides spending time with the family, we went to see the Blue Man Group at the Merriam Theater on December 30th. It was a lot of fun!
I didn't think I'd have this much to say this early. Going to my mom's later to see family again, but have to get the miles in. This week is going to be rough in readjusting to the work schedule. It was nice while it lasted.
Happy Day! ~Hollie
