Happy New Year ! !

Thanks for doing this challenge with me.  I read about it on another site and thought it would be a fun way to keep my exercise routine to the forefront of my mind.  I know that sometimes -- er, most times -- exercise can take a back seat to the 17,000 other things that we need to do in a day.  And heck, misery loves company, right?

You DO NOT have to run, jog, or even walk.  Twenty minutes of exercise equates to 1 mile on your log.  So even if you walk for 20 minutes and do not reach 1 mile in that time, you still get to log 1 mile.

Feel free to log your miles here or just keep them personal -- some are more competitive than others.  I'm more of a solo exerciser, but I do like to try to keep my miles posted.  It simply gives me more incentive to add up those miles.

And as you can see, I did not put much effort into this blog.  I just wanted to get it started for today.  It will grow and become more beautiful as the miles add up (Ok, that's somewhat overstated!).  I'll put some time into it later.

So for me, I put in 2 miles on the treadmill this morning.  I plan on taking the dogs out later for at least one more mile and I'll work out while watching tv and get another mile in.  See how easy it is!

Anyway, Happy New Year and thanks for joining the challenge!  I hope to see your miles add up here.  I'll be sharing some interesting health and fitness sites...and also about my plan to run in the Run Amuck Festival on May 21.

See you later!

  1. OK, I believe I've figured out how to blog this. Please feel free to log your miles here. Also, I'd love to hear any thoughts, positive comments, begging for inspiration, complaints...anything.

  2. Here's the mileage for the day:
    4 miles on the treadmill
1 mile (20 minutes circuit training)
    1 mile (walking the dogs.

I'm trying to do a little extra on the weekends b/c I might not be able to do as much during the week.

    6 miles down, 94 to go. :-)
